Brightness.
Dawn and night-clouds part on the horizon,
Dark muddy blues turn suddenly light
Spilling change on sun's hues as she rises,
And oh that fullness of sight.
Glow of greeting bequests winter daytime,
Brazen dome brooks no trace of the night.
She aims to captivate dark guilelessly
With oh such flourish of style.
Her blush in pale sky flashes a brightness
Over first tremble of prelude to fire.
Her welcome rays now blazing sublimely
In oh what a show of surprise.

- Comment from author about the poem: Sudden bright dawns brighten the winter and in milder Cornwall they can start Spring early. Hope you enjoy the read.

this is blindingly beautiful Fay .. like someone who knows exactly what they are doing with their colour wheel .. x
The only suprise to show itself everyday, tirelessly.
You grab my heart with this one dear Fay. The last stanza is so striking because it's what I feel each morning, starting out walking in the dark and experiencing that rising sun as you so beautifully put it "first tremble of prelude to fire". Thank you for this lovely reminder on this gray winter morning.
Let's spend that increasing minute or two of daylight each day wisely! lol.
The nights will be drawing in again after June 21st. I wish I would shut up being pessimistic. lol.
Wonderful words about a wonderful time of day Fay.
