Treasured

Fay Slimm.

Treasured.

I remember that night,
a grainy twilight draining sky's colour,
strange iridescent skin
on the water and wind lifting my hair.

I remember the burst
of birds into flight from silhouette trees,
limestone luminescence
and the damp of rocks cooling my feet.

I remember the thrill
as I waited for you and bliss beckoned
for love's rendezvous made
mem'ries never so treasured as then.
