Paddy Power First.

Goldfinch60

Into town we walked,

My lover and I,

Our exercise for the day.

A couple of things to buy,

We chatted and laughed our way,

Laughed our way down to the town,

Wandered around

And bought a couple of things,

Then we needed coffee.

So to the coffee shop we went

And that is when it happened,

An elderly couple walked passed us

And they were chatting quite happily

When I heard it said,

Something I would never have expected,

He said to her

“Shall we go to Paddy Power first?”

I just walked on laughing

Laughing my head off,

Going to a bookies mid-morning

Seemed so strange.

There's a joke 'Ohhh he (she) is a stranger to Ajax; never hardly been into a kitchen in their life!'
