Looking inside myself it is there.
If you knock on that door,
That door to my soul,
You will find me.
You will find an ageless hippie
An ageless hippie with a rock and roll heart
And a never ending hope,
A never ending hope for peace.

I say never give up that idealism we uncovered within us in those heady days when walls of conformity tumbled down and visions of a beautiful peaceful world shone through. Too many people shy away from idealism. Sigh.
Very true jarcher54, I was there and life was wonderful in those visions we aimed for. Thank you for your fine words.

Remember when we all signed our notes and letters with phrases like "Peace and Love"? another sigh.
Very true.

Good write Gold.
Thank you Orchi.
Andy,
I think about my mom every single day. Your poem and Orchiās hymn/poem have made me smile more than I usually do.
She was really into the 60s and 70s music. I have a lot of her music collection.
Thank you for the āmemoriesā.
Have a wonderful weekend.

So glad we can make you smile Laura, that means a great deal to me, I was around in the sixties and seventies, got married in the seventies and had two children then. The music then was so wonderful and I still play it now.
Keep well Laura and keep the music flowing.

I was not a hippie, but I was a teenager in the Age of Aquarius and it was an era that truly changed our society. This poem stirs so many so many vivid memories, and I thank you taking me back down the road to an incredible past.
Most kind Bella, I was always a hippie in my heart and still am, the idea of 'make love, not war' really got to me and still does.

I can dig it! š
Thank you Jane, so can I.
