Messiah Mission

Tune: Regent Square

('Light's abode, celestial Salem')

Psalm 72 v.1-8

*******

O God, give the King your judgements

Your wisdom, not human sense

And your righteousness unto your

Son, He the Messiah pure

Promised of old, now Him you sent

Bringer of new Covenant

He shall judge your people rightly

And act for the poor justly

Peace shall surround them as hills, mounts

They partake of blessing's founts

he shall bring justice to the poor

And shall save the needy sure

They shall fear you, shall be in awe

As long as sun, moon endure

Throughout all the generations

Reaching unto all nations

He your Son shall come as showers

On us, bring refreshing hours

In His days righteous shall flourish

He will feed and them nourish

He shall have dominion o'er

All the earth for evermore

From coast to coast, from sea to sea

His rule and reign e'er shall be

For lack of commonness human sense is quite anathema in hindsight. So we seek a higher wisdom than our own.

Thanks CB. This could apply also in the UK to our King too. I wrote something similar about our departed Queen last year.

Thanks N. The hymn in the clip is by one of the most eloquent writers, I think - Thomas รก Kempis, 15th Century.
