Waiting Watchfulness

Tune: Richmond

('Fill thou my life, O Lord my God')

Psalm 130 v.4-8

********

Lord, there is forgiveness with you

That you may be feared true

Reverenced with awe, your mercy

Love, grace, reach e'en to me

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits

He knows all my estates

And in His word do I hope sure

It stands firm evermore

Yes, my soul waits with trust, patience

If I His presence sense

Or if it seems he me forsook

Trust He still on me looks

So I wait more than watchmen wait

For the morning, not late

It comes each day, it follows night

Dawn leads to clear daylight

Let His people hope in Him for

With Him is mercy sure

And too plenteous redemption

Abundant for each one

And He shall all our sins forgive

Redeem us, we shall live

Price of sins paid through Christ, God's Son

Salvation barring none

I find it helps to sleep with either one, or all three eyes open 🙂
