But cannot yet, tell us why

This one haiku strikes at the heart of western science. We can only disprove the null hypothesis never prove anything to be true great write

    • Bella Shepard

Thank you dear friend, truth does seem to be in the heart or mind of the beholder. The longer I live, the more I feel I don't really know anything, I can only convice myself that I do. Maybe we will always struggle with understanding the incomprehensible, perhaps that is our greatest test.

Thanks, Bella. THE question in the proverbial nutshell.
My only belief is that I'm here because I'm here... Now if you want to debate this, by all means, but I don't want to bore them other proverbials off yer..... 🙂

P.S: My further belief is that it will never be known why, so don't blame science.

      • Bella Shepard

Dear friend, no need to debate for I think we're on the same page. We exist because of science, it has always been and always will be, and our quest to understand the mysteries of the universe and of life will drive us ever forward to even greater discoveries. But the "why" it all exists will, I think, always be up to each one of us to grapple with. As always I appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Very true, religious organisations are a farce, you have to believe in your own god bella.

"May your god go with you."

Thank you dear Andy, we do find our way with time. I find the older I get, the more I question. And the more I question, the more I trust myself and what I find belief or faith in. Whatever one chooses to call it, it sustains us.

            how I relate, dear Poet
            whenever I feel lacking
            I look-up the latest estimate
            of stars in our universe
            chuckling, at how it changes
            daily, it's comforting
            to know that even
            all that self-Important science
gets it wrong, All the Time...
            (I remember
in the last London Mayoral election
some guy had a campaign slogan
            worded, something like
            'i'm a man of science'
            I found that so funny
            imagine, replacing
one zealotry for a fantasy story
            with another, for theorising 'scientia'
            in just a generation...
            what self-deceiving feats
            humanity can reach, truly!)
            lol
but like you say, each to their own

            • Bella Shepard

My dear friend you are a sage extrordinaire. Our science simply discovers what has been there all along and always will be. How can we, with our tiny brains, hope to figure out the mysteries of the universe? We each find our own way, if we are fortunate, and I feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful kindred spirit, a wonderful friend in this world. Thank you!

Is science a valid reference to authenticate our belief. .?

              • Bella Shepard

Thank you for reading and commenting, I appreciate your point of view. I think that science doesn't necessarily authenticate belief, it explains the how of life, but it's up to us to arrive at what we think is the why, each through their own life experiences.
