L. B. Mek

This thing, overwhelming

Taking over, everything

Crazy, yesterday morning

A world existed, fully realised

Laughter, bad days

An entirety of reality

Now, your name

Alone

Takes up every other

Thought

Eyelashes, apparently

Are now, something I notice

All of a sudden

Memorising lengths and angles of curl

Symmetry of their butterfly flutter

As serenading blinks

This

A thing, I’m obsessed with

Since a quarter to midnight

Last night

As our lips, alcohol tinged

Introduced themselves

Your eyelashes, bombarded

My cheeks

So now every few minutes

I’m brushing the back of my hand

On my own face, lost to a mirage

Relieving that furnace, embrace

I’m scared

I’m exhilaratingly awash with hope

I’m scared

I’m scintillatingly amazed with life

I’m forgetting

What reality felt like, before

Your smile

Became both my twilights

Overnight

I’m texting, I’m on my way

Pensive

Till I read your reply, realising

I has now become, our ‘we’

Since

Your text stated you’re already

Halfway

Rushing, to meet me

Oh dear heart, what have we began…

An appropriate timing for the United States where it is to be Valentines day. Refreshing and lovely for the day.

        • L. B. Mek

          indeed, dear Poet
refreshing, is what I was hoping to portray/emote
          thank you!

A Valentine tale designed to take breath away and it certainly twined itself around my ever-romantic sense of the value its set-aside date places on that sudden feeling from just one kiss. A lovely read of love in the making.

'everything looks lovely, while it's budding...'
so glad you connected with the pacing
            dear Fay
I was trying to imbue a breathlessness
to try and capture that suddenness
when we find ourselves falling, without warning
            lol

              A fine poem, L.B.
              I choose love.

              • L. B. Mek

                Amen!
I too choose love, as my weapon
                in this
                my embattled state, as existence
(Hope you're having a decent start to the year Jerry
                almost at Spring's door, grateful
for life's small mercies, stay safe my friend)

              • Poetic Dan

Absolutely brilliant and yes it will always believe no matter what we do.....I was also told its a butterfly kiss to have those eyes flutter on us!
                Great stuff as ever

                  'eyelashes gifting butterfly kisses
                  while lips, tattoo life's memories'
ah dear treasured Poet, what a goofy smile
you gift me brother, thank you!

                • MiddleMood

                  Apparently, Eye lashes .
Are now, something I notice .

What an apt description of love .

                  • L. B. Mek

                    lol
glad you enjoyed the read kind poet
                    thank you!
                    (it's those small, yet monumental
sensations, that make falling in love
worth all the suffering and pain
in our chaotic existence, or so I think...)

The imagery of eyelashes puts me in mind of buttefly kisses, so gentle upon the cheek. When love comes rushing from both sides, it collides and fuses, and the joy is overwhelming. This is romance at its best dear friend, each day should be Valentines Day.

                    • L. B. Mek

' each day should be Valentines Day.'
                      Amen!
and it so easily can, my friend
                      thank you

indeed, a bug bite as our gifted delight
