Winterlude
For those who don’t
already know ..
Is that portion of time
which consists
of more than a yawn
and a pause
between dying
and kickstarted breath ..
It is without doubt
that single
portion of time when
still waters
harden and everything
slows, to barely
a halt and is likewise,
held fast
in a firm, gout like grip
and only ever
set free, by these
occasional snow ploughs ..

Oh woe! It's always Winterlude tome with KP and I. It's never any other season! lol. Her icy trout-like stare is scary. heehee.

Absolutely beautiful poem, you must include this one in an upcoming book. I was thinking it was too warm in England for waters to harden like they do here, but lovely sentiment. I just love this one.....saving to my favs! C

Seem to remember some bloke walking on water...though it was a long time ago and he carked it in his thirties...Still, there must be evening classes for that kind of thing...π

Dear Neville,
You certainly have a way with words.
You are incredibly talented.
This poem made me think of someone experiencing a heart attack. I guess each reader has their own interpretation depending on their own experiences.
