Through Troubles

Tune: Southwell

('Lord Jesus, think on me')

Psalm 116 v.1-7

********

I love the Lord, He heard

My voice, my every word

My pleas, my prayers came to His ear

His presence I sense near

So I will on Him call

Trusting, I shall not fall

Though sorrows as of death I knew

You helped me, even you

Pains as of hell gripped me

Troubles, sorrows did see

Then called I on the Lord's name sure

Deivler me, restore

Tend to my soul, for you

Gracious, righteous be too

And merciful you, our God be

Our Lord eternally

The Lord does me preserve

From Him may I not swerve

He lifted me when I was low

His graces I did know

Return to rest, my soul

The Lord restores you whole

Has saved you, dealt bountifully

From troubles set you free

My old landline phone is giving me no end of trouble - glad to see your hotline is doing much better - but wait til Apple gets you in their sights....

this sounds very much like that old hit by Synesius and Carbunkle 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' .. and that other one by Dexies Midnight Runners Goodnight Cyrene .. 🐧
