In Less Than the Blink of Two Eyes Perhaps
there is an ache, I cannot describe
a pain contained, so deep inside ..
yet still, as a river aches for the sea
then I too do ache, for your company
and so, for a time we are immortal
then gone quick, like a lightening flash ..
yes, in a shutter speed if lucky, tho’ less
than the blink, of two eyes perhaps ..

May those two eyes remain open soon Neville.
Andy
absolutely .............. wink wink 😎
Yes, two eyes - how can we blink with just one eye and not with the other eye?! Unless we only got one eye of course - call me Nelson.
I must know these things! lol.
Aye Aye Cap'n O 🚢⚓:)
I thought of Long John Silver at first, but that was one leg, not one eye. Doh!
deity or happenstance's chance
what ever designed our heart's
had too much trust, in us
since it forgot to include that turnstile
swing door, valves
for all those, who visit our life
convincing us
they'll be by our side, forevermore
but yet disappear, in but a blink...
tis why
my cherished friend, fool that I am
force you, to put up
with my overzealous ways
and cringe worthy words
for
life's bitter aftertaste, has thought me
to never take 'a tomorrow'
for granted
(I read and learn, dear wise Poet)
What more could an old fella possibly want more than being spoilt thus .. blushes, bows & swiftly exits 🙂
Full of appealing metaphor this verse of lament for more time than a blink when together - -- yes mon ami --- mem'ries seem all that it leaves - - such an emotive read..................x
many thank you's winging their way to your door Fay .. x
Such an emotional write! Time goes by entirely too quickly, doesn't it? I think it is brilliant! Saved to my favs...C
Bless those pretty little purple petals of yours C .... and thank you bountifully .. N
Yep - Nice to have me.... too late ; I'll start earlier next time....
sometimes your crypticism does not become you until later in the day ... perhaps
Having matured like fine wine?
