Or at least I’m trying to be

Affirmations swim in my head

Yes I did well in that competition

Yes I had a good practice 

Yes I got a good grade

Yes that was a good day

Yes he likes me 

Yes I got into a good school

I feel calm and vulnerable and fake all at the same time

I’m trying to be proud of myself

I see that I’m not quite there yet

I look to others to confirm what I hope is true

Yes you did well

Yes you’re smart

Yes you’re pretty

Yes I like you

Its hard right now 

But I’m trying
