Cold Turkey

jewelwrites55

Went off you cold turkey

I was in love but you hurt me

Shoulda known you weren’t different,

How it all shifted in an instant

Now my worlds tilt and shifting and a piece of me is missing

Guess you never understood me, clueless as you ever could be

Outta my mind about you so I gave you your space

Stabbed a knife in my heart when I realized you played in my face

Don’t wanna wake up from sleeping, I only allow you in dreaming

Your name turned to winter when you frost bit my brain

A permanent impact, like a scar or a stain

But I quit cold turkey shoulda known it’d un-nerve me

Now I’m withdrawing, and my heartbeat is falling

Hate that you’re fading, but be a loser for waiting

I’ll still think of you like I do every day

And try whatever to take this pain away
