I walked out of the meeting
Seething with anger;
I drove home shaking,
Almost in tears.
As I came in the house
My wonderful wife was there,
And as I told her what happened
I started to get calm.
I knew what I should do,
So I poured out a scotch,
Laphroaig of course,
Went into the garden,
And sat listening to nature.
The day was ending
And a calmness was all around.
I sat there in the still evening
Glorying in the sound of the birds,
And that calmness started to come
Into my body,
Into my mind.
Nature did its work again,
As it always does.
There seems to be no problem
That comes to me
That just sitting with nature
Cannot cure.

Pardon?! lol.
Good write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
Andy I enjoyed that, and I have no doubt what made you angry was justified, but also a call to action. No wonder the world doesn't improve when an angry man sublimates his (political) urges by getting sloshed on high quality scotch in no doubt a haven of tranquillity (for now) - his country garden...🤣😇!!!
Thank you Dave.
I submitted my thoughts which were right, I had apologies afterwards from those who realised I was right.
As for getting sloshed, Laphraoaig Whisky is for appreciation on every sip, not to get sloshed with.
In the summer I am often sitting out in the garden in the evening with a glass of good whisky by my side.
Andy
Quantify those apologies afterwards...
Did their apologies change anything?
A little jealous of a (sipped) good whisky in a lovely setting.....
Don't worry (I know you don't) the whisky and garden will probably outlast you (but not by much) 😇!!!
Of course they didn't change anything, they went their own way as they always do.
I would be quite happy to sip a whisky in the garden with you Dave.
Andy
I'm sure you would, Andy - but alas, time and less mobility has intervened.
Dear Andy the peace we find in nature is like nothing else. Such a wonderful poem to share. I also thank you for sharing the video. The Canon in D is on my classical playlist and I listen to it almost every day. This was a treat!
Thank you Bella, most kind.
