Tune: Sandys
('Teach me, my God and King')
Psalm 6 v.1-4
********
O Lord, rebuke me not
In anger, else my lot
Shall be poor, nor chasten me in
Displeasure for my sin
Have mercy upon me
O Lord, my troubles see
For I am weak, come to me, heal
Me, that I you sense, feel
My bones are vexed and pained
My soul sore troubled, feigned
I this not, but O Lord, how long
Till I return to song?
And you return to me
And from my troubles free
Me, O save me for your mercies
Sake, do so, these my pleas

Very good one Orchi.
Andy
Thanks Gold.
Vexed and pained, oh them aching bones!
Thanks CB.
Does God need to do a counselling course, Orchi?
Thanks Dave.
Thanks for what orchi? Your opinion would aid me and perhaps reduce my bafflement.......
Well, I don't know who could give Him instruction. It says 'Who (what human) has known the mind of the Lord, that they may instruct Him?' In the sense of 'What human could counsel Him?'
'Rebuke' and 'chasten'? All modern counselling practice highlights the need for empathy and non directive advice....Is it not that the whoever it is upstairs has been superseded..?
But superseded by who? Meanwhile, I'm too busy spelling that word properly - superseded or superceded?!
Perhaps no one - maybe the position is vacant......????
Go to Prof Google, or better still Onelook - they will help you immeasurably.
this is a hymn poem in 6,6,8,6 format isn't it 😎👍
Why yes, thanks N. Did ya think it was a tale of woe about KP and I, going by the title?!
