it is great to read something i can understand and relate too.. i find that, sadly, today, some of the poems being composed and published, are too obscure for my comprehension...
You will find without digging too far back, that I have poemed similar sentiments - although I wouldn't recommend you hunt them out without understanding I can be an ill mannered lout sometimes,,😇!!!

Until the system of polotics changes this will always be true. Polititions are elected by pleasing the greatest number of constituents so no action is often safer than any action. I've read Plato, Marx, Jefferson and many others, none of them have the answer. Enjoyed the read.
Thanks Soren . I'd be the first to admit that political systems are always going to be dynamic... it just seems that particularly the anglophone systems appear to be going down the gurgler right now.

Oh Bella, just discovered your post here after all this time - and at this late stage possibly I could get away with "too late". However your truth is so self evident to me that I have to respond even if it is only with a heartfelt thanks for your understanding.
Dear Dave, We had a great vacationand and got home on June 21. However, a day and a half later my husband became ill and we ended up in the Emergency Room. He was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with Legionella Pneumonia, more commonly known here as Legionaires Disease , contracted through bacteria found in water droplets often time in air conditioning units and hot tubs. We used hot tubs during our stays at a couple of hotels during our vacation which might account for it. As of today, June 26 he's still there, but well on the road to recovery. I'm eager to catch up with everyone once he's home. Thank you my friend, it is always so nice to share our thoughts. God bless!

Here we occasionally get legionella cases (although their reported frequency has of late been pushed aside by covid stories I think). Their source has typically turned out to be a shopping mall.
Corrupt or "do-nothing" leaders keep getting elected by the people. It is time for the people to wake up and insist on action and truth. _ Phil A.

Here, I've had comments to my political stuff like 'don't let them bother you'. Well they bloody well do. Over a fairly long life I've seen changes in political mood which bothers, bugs, whatever and I don't like it....
I liked it, but leadership and commitment rarely cross paths.

Another opinion deftly expressed. It seems those who are chosen to lead, do not know the meaning of the word.
