We're all headed to the same place
Why do you think you're better than I?
You can drive a fabulous Mercedes
But inevitably, you too, will die
The importance of appearances
Are not as pressing as you think
You think you can buy love
And that your shit doesn't stink
In earnest, losing you was great
I'm serious, I've not one regret
With all the shit you've put me through
But there are so many things I don't get

- Comment from author about the poem: Idk if \\\"shit\\\" counts as over 18 but I\\\'ll tick the box in case. So, recently my brother disowned me for not going to his destination wedding and I say good riddance!

you can choose your friends, but sadly, you can't choose your relatives .. a good poem and I say, good riddance too .. I sure hope you feel better for getting that off your chest C 💜
Thank you Neville, your comments are much appreciated!! 🙂 x
Great job christina!! My family is that way too
Well, sorry to hear but thank you for your kind comment!! Christina
My God this is legendary. The lines “You can drive a fabulous Mercedes / But inevitably, you too, will die” – pretty much sums it up perfectly. While some may say “good riddance,” my Southern sass says “Bye, Felicia!” Lol.
Thank you Rocky for your kind comments and reading this poem. I mean, he buys lavish vacations and things....but you can't take it with you! We all came in the same and will go out basically the same. I like your Southern sass!
Be happy my friend and feel free of encumberance. When you feel good in heart and mind that's what counts.
I totally agree. Thanks for your kind comments and for reading my poem.
Aw you must have good reason not to attend his wedding, you expressed in a very reasonable way, superb as a poem! Sad to hear but hope one day you make up. Kudos!
Plz also read and comment my newest poem too.
Thanks for the read and your kind reply!
You don't miss and hit the wall do you???
Nice to see a bit of passion on my 1st read in a while
His loss
Thanks so much for your wonderful reply, haven't heard from you in a while. Yeah, I need to get back to poetry. And believe me, it was and still is his loss indeed!
