Tune: Winchester New
('Ride on, ride on in majesty')
Hebrews 2 v.9, 14-17
********
Jesus, Son of God, tasted death
For every one, to final breath
Upon the cross, and salvation
He obtained for every nation
Humans of flesh and blood partake
And so did Jesus for our sake
Become full human, full divine
To defeat powers ill, amlign
That through His death He might destoy
Him that had power, evil ploy
The one who had the power of death
The devil, this the scripture saith
And so deliver they who through
Fear of death, were subject anew
Through their life, by this fear they bound
But eternal life in Christ found
For Christ became not an angel
Some super-being for to tell
But took on Him human nature
Our high priest, He true God, true man

Thanks N. Notice the 8's format?! Sounds like bingo!
Beautiful poem dear friend, Christ did indeed set the example for all of humanity, if we'll only follow it.
Thanks Bella. Aiming to follow on the 'journey', this Holy Week.
C certainly has no greater follower than you Orchi! I bet he even blessed your sword in 1066
