stranger in the mirror

M0LLY

when I look in the mirror

i don't believe

what's looking back at me

the tangled hair eyes begging

for the tiniest drop of sleep

the sounds coming out of my mouth

barely even a peep

they say self love

comes before loving others

they all say "you'll never grow"

they all say how they succeed in life

no validation to show

but what if thats the way i can love myself

by seeking others loving arms

not shoving my feelings on a shelf

i don't believe in anything

except sitting in bed all day listening to cavetown and radiohead

feeling like you want to drown,

feeling kinda dead

the person looking back at me wasn't who i was

the things they said took a toll on me

my life a movie on pause.
