Brightened My Day

Artemis

They yell it out the window and at first i'm confused
I had my earbuds in and can't hear hardly anything
I read their lips and use their gestures as context

¨I like your hair¨

I smile and softly speak a thank you
The car was to far away for me to thank them at a volume they can hear me at
But I can't help it
It makes me happy and excited and I have to offer my thanks even if I know they will never hear it

I hear it often, almost daily
Something that comes when you have bright neon green hair
People notice
But something about this interaction is special

Thank you random person in a car driving through a stop light :) you brightened my day
