Tune: O Waly Waly
('An upper room did our Lord prepare')
John 13 v.1-17 parts
********
Sharing in meal before Passover
It was at the final Supper
Before Christ suffered, died, rose again
He still showed love unto all men* (*mankind)
After supper, washed disciples feet
Dusty and grimy, He left seat
Girded self with towel, and them served
Never from father's will He swerved
He would still love them, us, to the end
God the Father His Son did send
To save us, here shown in bread and wine
Christ's life full human, full divine
Give grace to us that we here humbly
May too serve each other freely
Many ways we wash each other's feet
And grow more Christ-like, whole, complete

I fear the importance of sharing, is sadly in decline .. but if you confront some greedy so and so they will invariably be in denial .. 🐧
Thanks N.
Truly I love the sentiment here. Jokingly I would say we could buy them shoes..........
Doh! yes, it would help. For them in sandals, I expect, it was foot-washing.
This is such a precise poem! I love Easter, and it is always a reminder that there was a holy resurrection, and a continuous Spirit here on Earth, offering salvation. This Saturday I'm going to a play about Jesus' life, it's called "The Thorn," can't wait!
Thanks Rocky.
Sharing is so vital to living a worthwhile life and many are the ways we can do it my friend.
Will Fido share his bone with his friends?!
