Tune: Horsley
('There is a green hill far away')
Romans 5 v.6-11
*******
When we were without strength, at right
Time, Christ did in our sight
Die for the ungodly to bring
Salvation, praises ring
For scarcely for a righteous man
Will one die if one can
Yet perhaps for a good man some
Would dare to die, so come
But God commends to us His love
And Spirit, holy dove
In that while we were yet sinners
Christ died for us, appears
Much more now being justified
By His blood, none beside
We shall be saved from wrath through Him
Sins forgiven our hymn
For if, when we were enemies
God looks on us and sees
Sends His Son to us reconcile
By His life all the while
Much more having been reconciled
Now, cleansed and undefiled
We shall be saved by His life, for
He our atonement sure
