Bucket List

Neville

Bucket List

It never even crossed

my mind

that growing old

might be

quite so unkind

as it is now turning out  ..

Today tho’ I realise

that back in the day ..

When that

first flush of youth

passed me by

I had then failed and so

miserably,

to consider, take into

account, or even

acknowledge so many

universal truths ..

Therefore, my latest,

updated bucket list

consists of all those

things

I have not yet done ..

So just in case,

I come too soon or

maybe, stay too late ..

I want you to know

my love

I decided long ago ..

To henceforth,

approach life full on

and not to stall,

or pause, or for one

single moment

hesitate, but rather

always, do what

feels good at the time ..

Rats, I refuse to post my initial gut reaction to hearing that, on the grounds that there is no obvious 18+ tick box handy to punch a hole in 🐀🐭🐀🐧

Such true words Neville, always do what feels good at the time as that time may not come again.

Life approached full on whatever the state or the passing of years is my motto too mi amigo- -- pausing for ageing never was on any good bucket list. Loving the honesty in these few lines though.........x

Live life to the fullest!! Retirement is meant to be happy times. So go ahead, do whatever brings you joy. A great expression of the dilemma in retiring or rather, your statement of dealing with it. Greatly enjoyed. - Phil A.

Beautifully said dear friend. Life is each moment and each moment is precious, to be lived and savored. The saddest reflection is "I wish I had, but never found the time". The time is there, we just need the courage to seize it.

(this, a poetic recipe for overcoming
that ephemerality in our harsh reality)
                      Brilliant!
                      dear Poet supreme
