Roses

msa

In despair I found hope

In the dirt I found gold

I hit rock bottom and looked up at the stars

I counted my blessings instead of pieces of my heart

I realized my tears were not in vain

I've learned many lessons in pain

And roses can't bloom without a little rain

I liked this piece. It’s practical and it also fancifully segues to metaphor which lessens what could be a harsher message and makes one nod in recognition of those moments we see ourselves in the piece. Nice.
