I Hate Me

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

When I look back

All the taunts

The ridicules

They all succumbed

I pity myself

I hate myself

I have never been kind

I have been reckless

I have been careless

I have been rude

I have been nuisance

I have acted naughtily

I really hate myself

Given chance to start over

I guess I would be responsible

To show some respect

At least in every aspect

I think I would be kind

People think I am kind

Though I have never been kind

Trying to be responsible

Maybe I could do better

Now I regret it

Becoming quiet

Everyday pondering, -thinking

Trying to be nice

People thinking I am kind

Though I have never been kind

I really hate myself
