Tune: Abridge
('Be thou my guardian and my guide')
Psalm 14
********
The fool has said within his (/her) heart
There is no God, no part
They corrupt, abominable
None does good, none at all
The Lord looked down from His heaven
Upon the sons (/daughters) of men
To seek if any understood
If any seek God would
But none, for they all gone aside
In selfishness and pride
All become filthy, none good do
Not even just a few
Have those who work iniquity
No knowledge, they not see?
They eat up God's people as bread
Call not on Him, their Head
There the wicked in great fear, see
God in the midst He be
In generation of righteous
Dwelling sure among us
The wicked have shamed the counsel
Of the poor, they near fall
God, He the refuge of the poor
Will come to their help sure
Oh that Israel's salvation
Would come out of Zion
When the Lord brings back His captives
They shall rejoice, each lives

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. format. I aim to cover some parts of Psalms that I have not covered as yet. They are not all praise-y ones.
