Tune: Nun Danket
('Now thank we all our God')
Psalm 75
*******
We give thanks unto you
Lord God, you just and you true
For that you name is near
Your wondrous works declare here
When I the people shall
Receive, I shall judge well
Though earth be dissolved, He
The Lord bears it up, see
The Lord said to boastful
Deal not foolish or evil
And to the wicked He
Said, as horned beast do not be
Lift not your horn* as proud (*a symbol of pride)
Nor be stiff-necked* avowed (*stubborn)
For promotion does not
Come by man's strength or lot
But God the judge He is
Puts down and sets up, see this
For in the Lord's hand there
A cup of wine He does share
It is full of mixture
He pours it our for sure
But the dregs the wicked
Shall drink, it be wine red
But I for ever will
Declare praises of God still
All the wicked's strength, horns
The Lord will cut off, be shorn
But strength of the righteous
Shall be exalted thus
For God is judge for e'er
His righteous ways fail ne'er

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.7.6.7. 6.6.6.6. format. It seems 'judgment' (no 'e' in the middle) is used, meaning possibility of punishment, and 'judgement' (with 'e' in the middle) is used for general use, as in 'use your own judgement'.

Beautiful!
Thanks S.
I have always thought that what is right, honest and true is built upon a solid foundation, and that which is built upon lies, deceit and selfishness built upon sand and shale and cannot in the end prevail. It gives me hope. Thank you for putting it so beautifully dear friend.
Thanks Bella. I only sort of adapt the Bible verses sometimes, hopefully not changing their meaning.
Good one Orchi
Thanks Gold.
