Friendships break

someone who wants to heal

Once the best of friends,

We used to share everything,

Tea, love and laughter.

You knew all my fears,

And the things I held dear.

Needed you in my darkest nights,

In the days that felt impossible.

For only you saw the pain in me,

That I learned to hide so well.

You soothed all my scars,

Only to leave a thousand more.

Never knew our story would end so soon,

Or I'd have cherished you more.

Used to fear losing you,

But now I just chuckle.

Thinking what a fool I used to be,

All for you.

Nothing hurts more than love they say,

But they haven't seen friendships break.

You look at me with distant eyes,

Strangers once more.

And all the moments i treasured fall away,

Like raindrops on stone.

Now I hesitate,

Every time a hand grazes mine-

Is this real,

Or

just another delusion of mine?-
