Mark Well the Purpose of Night
Take note,
and mark well
the stillness
of night my love ..
Hark, as it
carries the sound
of our ghosts
as they do laugh
and they
dance together
upon the surface
of water,
like sunlight, yet
ten times more
invisible
to the naked eye
and even
more silent than
your unspoken
thoughts
would have us
imagine ..
And fear not
those who would
otherwise
devour us for it also
serves to hide us
amongst
its many folds ..
So pray
take note
and mark well
the goodness
and purpose of it ..
While also,
allowing us to dream ..

And furthermore f, f, f, f, and f!
That's fur enough, if not maybe too fur π
A purpose well dreamed great poet. π
You have just filled my day with an abundance of it .. purpose that is .. Many thanks my friend π
Nights of love dancing with happiness will always be times we look back on with pleasure - -- a beautiful reminder that dreamy memories are made from humour's consistent togetherness .......x
Tis mighty good to have you back Fay .. and ta for taking time to treat my little scribble here today ....π§)) x
To slumber whence sleep may be found is a use of night that should it be lost leaves lingering fright.
it seems you caught my drift when passing .. thank you cb π
Dreams of love as "the purpose of the night." Could anything be more purposeful? A wonderful ode to the mystery of the night. Protected by the lack of light they are" invisible" "ghosts" "dancing on water."
For all of the darkness the images are crystal clear and brought to fruition by your last line. Your poem is a dream come true. Beautiful! - Phil A.
Now what could possibly be better than that Phil .. Thank you so very bloomin much my friend & truly .. Neville
Tis true that the brain is more busy durning the night when we sleep, than when we are awake, storing wonderful memories of our days, that we may retrieve and relive once again. This poem has such a gentle touch, I can almost hear Michael Crawford singing "Music of Night" in the background. Exquisite dear friend!
yes, an often unrecognised fact but indeed true .. and I thank you for not only that, but for the visit too π
'ten times more
invisible
to the naked eye'
(and so, that much more
preciously, tattooed
within our heart's, walls...)
Brilliant!
