Depression

lisztmsv

swallowed, wallowing, beckoning,

dwelling, unforgiving, sickening,

a blackness has spread through me.

threatening to consume me whole.

i'm in the dark, fighting to get to the surface,

trying to be above the water,

trying to fight the monsters away,

pushing to keep them at bay,

the weight is heavy & all knowing,

realizing it can crush me still,

staking claim on my will.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This one is very personal, it's how I feel when I get down and in my thoughts. Most of the time I shut off my emotions but sometimes you can only do that for so long until they are boiling over.
