THE GARDEN OF LIFE

That writer Bree

In the garden of life,

Where all colors bloom,

There grows a seed of hope,

That will conquer all the gloom.

The sun shines bright and warm,

To light up the darkest day,

And the raindrops of compassion,

Will wash your fears away.

But amidst this beauty,

There are thorns that prick and sting,

And the winds of change and loss,

Can leave your heart aching.

Yet, if you tend your garden well,

With patience, love and care,

The blooms will keep on thriving,

And your soul will soar and dare.

So, cherish your garden of life,

And tend to it every day,

For the beauty and love it brings,

Will never fade away.

                                   Love, B.

A winner I compare the chosen words and style to Smokey Robinson who is known for weaving fairly simple phrases and vocabulary into compelling stories whose sophistication drove home messages that have stood the test of time w nary a burdensome cliche about. That’s how this piece hit me.
