Love Potion No.19

Parisab

If I miss the signs
and drink love potion
Ecstasy will sin
and be in full motion
Two voices will rise
as waves of an ocean
Embrace with sacrifice
as slippery fish of devotion
We’ll forget the cuts
and claim preemption                             We’ll spread big nets                               and ‘ll thread our commotion

Thank you for your sagacious viewing of the poem, poet friend-I guess as poets we respond the same way to the world and project our nature and point of view.

  • Peter Gates

You've certainly caught the essence of love. Enjoyed this.

  • Parisab

Thank you for the care you put in reading this

Young love's niavete lasts briefly, but is never forgotten. The first palpatations of the heart awaken in us to emotions thrilling, confusing, perhaps a little frightening, but exhilerating. Such a good write dear poet!

    • Parisab

Yes, exactly-even in the age of the gen Z-thank you for taking the care to read and comment.

      wonderfully creative
      'batch no.19'
what matters most, is that we find
      hope/strength, stubbornness enough
      to keep experimenting and hoping
      'We’ll forget the cuts
      and claim preemption '
      not settling
      for those shallow solutions
      of love potion mirages...
(just a great read, dear Poet
      your insightful poetry
      as eloquently refined, as-ever)
      thank you!
      (widening our word spacing
like we widen our fishing nets
      of hope,
      a showcasing of wordless imagery)

Wow! Great write. Love by "potion" or otherwise, leads to sacrifice and devotion. Such is life. Wisdom of experience laced with morality and understanding. Wise words indeed. - Phil A.

Experience is the journey to the destination of choice. "what fuels the misinterpretation of our sexual energy" I think, Is the question that would lead us to our highest, and lowest parts of ourselves
'Love potion No 19' is a great read

Thanks my dear poet friend-my words described that intoxicated feeling-I know if you’re aware that research suggests the brain releases those intense chemicals couple times in a life span and after that it releases the chemicals for attachment and bonding (and more mature and stable love:))
