Word Worthies

Tune: St Clement

('The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended')

Psalm 119 v.73-80

********

Your hands have made me, Lord, fashioned me

Give me understanding, so be

That I may learn your commands, obey

And so walk in your light of day

They that fear you will be glad when they

See me, I in your commands stay

Have hoped in your word, and Lord, I know

Your judgements are righteous, 'tis so

And I know that you in faithfulness

Have afflicted me, plan to bless

Let, I pray, your merciful kindness

Be to my comfort, that, no less

let you tender mercies come to me

That I may live, your law freely

is my delight, let proud be ashamed

They false treated me, me defamed

Let those who fear you, Lord. turn to me

And who know your testimonies

Let my heart in your statutes be sound

Blameless, unashamed then I found

    Blameless I afraid.
    Strong and resolved also

      Thanks Bobby O.
Sounds like the Psalmist is blowing his own trumpet, and maybe literally too! (verse 2). But I'm sure he does not mean 'Look at me; I'm goody two-shoes!' I lost a shoe myself, so I can't say that of me! lol.

Oh woe! Goldfinch/Andy can't seem to get online to MPS. Any ideas, anyone?

Wordworthy is thanksgiving and to roll in blessedness can perhaps be awkward to look upon.
