The quiet kid

Anouk

You see the quiet kid sitting in your class, you think “what a loser, just be social”. But what you don’t see is how hard she is fighting for her life. Waking up is like a torture every day, getting dressed, eating, talking to people, it’s all too much energy required. Parents say “just don’t be lazy”, teachers say “just study more”.
But if they just knew what was going on in her head, the silence, the sleeping, it would all make sense.

“But what if you just talked?” I mean she doesn’t even understand her own head, she doesn’t know why she’s unhappy just that it’s a burden to live every day.

“But what if you just took your own life?” It’s not that easy, her inner child wants to be happy, that’s her only goal in life. But for now sleep is the closest thing to death, no worries, no one yelling, nothing.

But then you wake up and the next day begins, different day, same shit.

She just waits till death comes get her or if she has a chance, meanwhile she just plays with death you know. Smoking, drinking, weird eating habits, not enough exercise. Just teasing death till he comes and gets her. <3

That pounds like a bass drum deeply into my brain, it outlines truly awkward synergy w palpable uncertainty as existing tension turns every well intentioned plan into a wild guess.
