Communion Contemplation

orchidee

Tune: Leibster Jesu

('Dearest Jesu, we are here')

********

Ready to partake bread, wine

Gifts to us in your feast divine

Whether we in person meet

Or around home tables do seat

Come to us, bless now these symbols

Help us hear your salvation calls

They symbols of your body

And of your blood shed for us free

Money cannot buy such, though

Yet you tell us so we may know

That it will cost all if truly

We faithful disciples will be

Here we recall of your death

On the cross, drawing final breath

Then rising to life again

Saviour of races of all men

Whate'er be our human station

You redeem from every nation

Inspire, strengthen us, so we

Go out in the world and thus be

Empowered by your Spirit

That our lives be as your lamps lit

Sharing Christ-likeness in our each day

That folk know you, the Life, Truth, Way

I think the tail end of your authors note, if indeed true, is one of the best quotes I have heard in a long time ..🐧🐭

A true sacrament. This could almost be a blessing for food as well. It rolls off the tongue and has a true feeling of gratitude. Very nicely done.
