Zoom into your skin.
Read your life lines, caress your scars.
Its color is built from thousands.
Memories are soaked up in your skin.
Fear is engulfed in your complexion
Asking for forgiveness.
Look closely at your scars.
How many do you have?
Have some left pain?
Numbness?
Eu tenho saudades dele.
Dela.
Não sei porque eu estou sentindo assim.
Eu quero deixar essas emoções.
My petition is that one may appreciate their scars.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is about accepting your scars and wounds. Understand that your negative experiences and flaws do not define you. Sometimes my brain will jump between languages, because words in one language cannot be expressed in another. When switching languages you translate thoughts, making poetry melodious.

dear poet, thanks for sharing)
Thank you!
This is so true! I definitely feel this.
Adoro que você coloque o português na sua escrita, vou começar a fazer algo parecido com a minha poesia. Eu falo espanhol e metade dos meus poemas são em espanhol, então talvez eu deva fazer uma mistura. Obrigado, grande inspiração.
Obrigada! Tou feliz que você gostou do meu poema.
Having a Brazilian father and being able to comprehend Portuguese semi-well makes me appreciate this poem all the more
That’s amazing! Question: do you understand some Spanish? I think it’s cool to put different language in poetry to diversify the culture in poetry.
That is a perfect question. Indeed, I speak Spanish, as well. My mom’s side of the family is Cuban, and we mainly speak Spanish in my household. Although, I must admit, my Spanish is definitely more fluent than my Portuguese. Regardless, I love having both Hispanic and Brazilian roots, and I totally agree with you; incorporating different languages into poetry surely spices it up. Y como decía la famosa Celia Cruz, es un gran motivo por gritar “¡azúcar!”
