Surround yourself with friends
Who have the time for you
Who will not offer excuses
When trouble or problems brew
To those, who excuses, find
Don’t think we are dumb and blind
If you have us in heart and mind
You’ll always be helpful and kind
It’s just a question of priorities
For if they really do care
They’ll always find the time
To all, your experiences, share
Fair weather friends are those
Whose excuses hurt like whips
the caring ones will help though
to heal your internal bruises
So learn this lesson well
And keep friends few and true
For these are the gems of mankind
Who’ll always stick by you

It is Di important to connect w the right people.
you have nailed it on the head, my friend. it's better to have a few but true, rather than a large group of fair weather friends.
take care, have a good day, and may you always have true blue friends around you
I wrote a trilogy of three short pieces that speaks to that.
First get rid of the no goof
Then figure out the right type of people
Then bask and enjoy the new group.
Please read them? It’s titled trilogy and easy to find in my poems. Share your impression as I’d love to hear your thoughts!

yes i surely will...thanks for sharing
have a good day
What's that line: a good heart these days is hard to find..goes with friends also, I am grateful for the few I have.
I've learnt to expect nothing nothing and ask little, after that is only joy.
And if I may ramble a bit longer- everyone will be judged by their actions, and God is the rewarder.
Love to you and all.
i empathize with your sentiments. expect nothing, and you will be overwhelmed with the joy the few true friends can give..
It's also true we will all be judged by our each and every action - so let us be careful how we behave
thanks for your feedback - wishing you lots of true friends in the years ahead
