Riches Cannot Redeem

orchidee

Tune: Malvern

(one tune to 'Jesus, where'er thy people meet')

Psalm 49 v.16-20

********

Be not afraid, when rich one made

Their state shall not be ever staid

When the glory of their house be

Increased, 'tis mot eternal, see

For when they die they shall carry

Nothing away, nor their glory

Can they take with them, the shall go

As they came, with nothing, we know

Though while they lived they blessed their soul

And looked to have all things, and whole

Yet people will praise when you do

Well to yourself, your good show too

But the rich shall perish, and they

Shall never see light, no more day

Man that is in honour, and no

Understanding, like beasts is so

Cloths do not the man make, nor riches give him character. No we take nothing with us. Enjoyed it Orchi.
