Tune: Gopsal
('Rejoice, the Lord is King')
Ephesians 1 v.19-23
********
Church of God, now arise
Press onwards to the prize
The day when we shall be
For 'er with the lord free
The Father's promise, the Spirit
Jesus sends to us, our way lit
The exceeding greatness
Of His power, true this
Unto us who believe
The Spirit we receive
According to God's mighty power
Dependent on Him each hour
His mighty power, the same
When in His Son's acclaim
He raised Him from the dead
he e'er our living Head
God seated Him at His right hand
He rules and reigns o'er every land
In heaven, far above all
Names that mankind can call
All principalities
And power, might, e'en these
Shall bow to His dominion
And worship Him, the worthy one
Not in this age only
But in the age, so be
That is to come, thoug hwe
As yet we it not see
God has put all things 'neath Christ's feet
He Head o'er all things, it is meet* (*apt, suitable)
He Head over all things
To the church, it Him brings
Him homage, and church be
His body spiritually
The fulness of Him that does fill
All in all, His reign of good will

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6.8.8. I grumble bout some churches always seeming to want money. That should not be their main purpose. One church puts finance details on first page of their Website every week! Meanwhile - send all contributions to me (heehee).

The tune is 'Gopsal' for some reason, not 'Gospel'.
I'll split them with you.
Thanks 2.......!
No that would be a thank you!
But we be happy with what we have.
My father in law was a C of E reverend ordained in holy orders in the 50's and worked as hospital chaplain and at a Midlands hospice until he was well into his eighties .. Neville
Thanks Neville. It's not C of E that are the real money-grabbers, its'..... have to tell you privately!
Looking at a sculpture, in my studio, with a hologram of 'Lucy' a 3.5 million-year-old girl. Wonder if she sang and to who?
Thanks Jerry.
God one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
