Something we don't know

Jack Trip

Look at the mountains coming out purple and

hazy

Like they don't know about

Christine's uterus

Look at those stars glimmer

and glow

Like they don't know about

the scars on Chloe's legs

Look at that tree by the river

sucking up water and reaching for the sky

Like it doesn't know about

the burned down houses and dead end streets

She works in the yard hour by hour

but the weeds always

come back

and she talks to them

as if they knew something

we don't

The inevitability of the costs inside all the envelopes quietly placed in the bottom drawer , those hidden tomes take their time and always , thankfully speak.
    Nice write, good read. Props
