My wish

SeaHydrangea

See the figure by my side

tired eyes staring straight

can't do anything but sigh

at the state of myself.

How I wish I could be more

than what you have to deal everyday,

but I'm just incapable, sad and alone;

forgive me for my path going stray.

Looking back on the bygone past,

I can't grasp how I could fail at such an easy task.

Just work and nothing more would've sufficed,

not even this I could do right, shame on me for that.

I can't help this oppressing feeling,

threatens to drag me to the dark depths

of a sea of regret and shame. No matter,

I cannot swim but I refuse to perish this way.

All I can do is exist and hope for a new day,

may you be happier than me, that is all I wish.

May my happiness be yours, I had failed you so much.

May the future be bright, that is what I wish for you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I think the message is clear but I still want to know what others think of it, overall its about my own feelings of regret that I, currently haven't done anything worth the sacrifice and effort of those that surround me.

My comments on the poem "My wish” by SeaHydrangea
It is clear the author is feeling depressed at the lack of progress in their fate. Apparently they cannot succeed in doing even little tasks. They are struggling to scrape through, and rightly refuse to give up. It is sad that the author wishes others happiness while they themselves see none of it coming their way. Kind friend, may you overcome this pitiful episode in your life and may you find brighter days ahead. Best wishes. Soman Ragavan. 30 May, 2023. //
