There it is, that tune again,
That tune that takes me back,
Back to my childhood,
To the black and white television,
Where the masked hero
Galloped on his white horse,
His friend at his side
Riding his spotted palomino.
They rode through the west
Bringing good from the bad.
That tune is so evocative
That I know my childhood,
Will always be there,
As I hear that music.

- Comment from author about the poem: The tune is the Overture to William Tell by Gioachino Rossini. The television series was “The Lone Ranger”.

Did we take over from him, you and I, when he was on holidays? We have horse-riding experience from Hastings. lol.
No we did not as Tonto was in charge.

I've suffered from verbal dyslexia all my life. I always thought is was Hi-ho!
It was Hi-Yo but it can get confused with Hi-ho which was a song.

My memory but echoes yours. Thanks for the memory of my childhood and in knowing Rossini composed it. Well done.
Thank you Peter, memories are important.

We can still get reruns in black and white on one of the streaming channels. I never knew until I was much older that the theme song was actually a classical piece of music. So can never think of it as Rossini's William Tell Overature, it is always the Lone Ranger. Thank you Andy for this blast from the oh so distant past.
My pleasure Bella.

I am too young to know what that is, but childhood memories in general are truly priceless!
Those memories certainly are priceless rhmn_7, thank you.
