So fragile, is time that’s bestowed,
with hopeful thoughts, their dreams, they own,
but when danger strikes, all is gone,
with never knowing, what they did wrong,
an allrounder, will never bowl, or bat,
nor score a century, nor tip his hat,
but man of the match, he will be known,
around the boundary, that is his home,
nor will a daughter of Hippocrates,
work the magic of her art, to ease,
she carries a golden hockey stick,
in Heaven’s dream team draft pick,
in a broom cupboard, there’s a cup of tea,
without an owner, no sign of he,
both children and staff, all the same,
toast in bone China, to photo in frame,
so, short these two lives, and a man down,
keep strong their smiles, try not to frown,
as in love, there’s warmth, in hate, there’s cold,
for sustained affection, will never get old,
thus, let the three, spread their wings,
to soar through sky, with angel grins,
cry today, celebrate tomorrow,
let community, overcome the sorrow.

- Comment from author about the poem: Very recently, a horrible attack happened in nearby Nottingham, which took the lives of University students, Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley Kumar, both aged nineteen and Ian Coates, a school care-taker aged sixty five. The coverage of the story has become international, and has shocked and moved a lot of people, including me, so, I offer this poem, Three, as a homage in their memory. Accompanying the poem, is a picture of them, from a BBC article by Elizabeth Joyce and Dan Martin (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-65900995) and the banner picture is of the sky, of which, I hope is now their forever playground. Rest in Peace to them all, and please, please, please, do stay safe everyone.

It will stay with me forever watching graces dad yesterday. What he said today imagine a world without hate, just love, although I'm not in the UK it's still my home and I'm as sad as anyone. Senseless loss. ❤️ You certainly do your self proud with this.
Thanks for the read Teddy.15, and yes, I too, caught a glimpse of the coverage of the vigil, very moving indeed, the core operation of humanity must do better, else like my previous poem "Horsemen" states, it would seem that to be a "Horseman" would seem to be our only purpose.
Again, RIP to them all, my thoughts are with their families, and thank you for your kind words.
I hope that all is well.
Wonderful tribute Ben to three completely innocent victims.
What is happening in our world?
Andy
Thanks for the read Andy, and for your very kind words.
Here's my attempt at an answer to your question: mankind's concentrated effort to be imperfect is what's happening, a habitual "it'll do" attitude prolonged by base desires, to ensure that no change for the better can occur. These may be strong words, but it's what I feel to be true.
I hope that all is well.
