Stay with me
I see you leaving
Between empty words
When you breathe in
Where is it that you go?
Stay with me
The walls start caving
'neath unspoken words
Of my deceit
What do you think you know?
Out on the wire
And it's catching fire
There's so much more to learn
Out on the wire
And it's catching fire
Do we really just let it burn?
No, stay with me
I don't deserve you
But I don't deserve this
I need you to know the truth
I was scared to lose you
Scared to move to
Songs that aren't enough for you
The me that I'm hiding
buried so deep I can't find him
With no air to flame the fuse
The me that I'm hiding
buried so deep I can't find him
But he can breathe whenever I'm with you.

Seems that you like this person ? Smooth and eloquent piece. Songs that aren’t enough… what a cool way to convey that it’s almost impossible to imagine what is enough ? Tip-some Classic Smokey Robinson ?
Love a bit of Smokey. Glad you enjoyed that line, I enjoyed writing it. Although this was written while watching A star is born 😆 so it's not autobiographical.
But the real question is which one?
W James Mason ? Judy Garland ? Barbra? Or that snooze fest w Bradley and Gaga? If it’s that one then lie to me and say it’s not??
