Silver Moon

David Wakeling

My heart belongs to the moon,
It always has.
Only Lady Luna knows my love.
I adore her shiny face in the dark sky.
Some will lock me away for daring to love her,
But I don’t care.
I am not ashamed of my admiration.
And what’s more she loves me.
Her nightly dance is a show for me. I only see her .

Some will choose the Sun in all its glory.
But my life is hers.

But lately she grows distant.
I don’t speak to her as I once did.
She seems to be flirting with others.
I know my affair was forbidden and is no over.
I know that the light from the Moon is just a reflection.

A white angel has tapped me on the shoulder
And wishes to welcome me home.
