THE NASCAR LOOP

Bobby O

THE NASCAR LOOP

Left turn, left turn 4 straight times,
I'm on an oval with no finish line.
Unanswered questions racing thru my mind, u drove away and took love's exit sign, and left me behind with left turn, left turn 4 more times.

No one goes thru life without making mistakes, You put your pride aside and face the trouble you make. When you hold someone's heart you hold life's highest stakes. Then you treat me like a pitstop, my emotions ain't fake.

Like the myth of Sisyphus and his uncompleatable task, love moved slowly up the mountain but fell real fast, now I'm caught in the Minataur's maze doomed to retrace the past, to escape the unescapable is all that i ask. Love once invincible, unbreakable, now shattered like glass.

Cuz these left turns are a bad design, let's take a right turn to the finish line. The only oval would  be a diamond with brilliant shine. We'd ride away together, and leave the Left Turns behind.

Each line made me want to keep reading, meaningful poetry with a good flow is always the best..

That’s really nice for you to say. I tried to sell it as a song to the Fugees . They sent me a pamphlet for a cruise.

        They missed out!

My sis not of that moniker.
The piece was written to emote a certain frustration. Worst thing about it was in the very day I told my friends that she and I hit a cool stride and I was confident it was gonna last. Less than an hour later she arrives at the party and I move to hug her and she extends her arms to create distanc and says “I don’t wanna do this anymore” Then she just leaves and I never found out why.
Left turn left turn left turn left turn

Too cool r the words. I’ve been using funny phrases to talk like bonnet and lift and bumper shoot and proper. Started wearing sleeves shirts and growing a blimey rough patch beard. Do you think I got a chance to qualify as a hooligan??

It’s in my blood. My gram slipped out of a rough part of Liverpool., she was a Cromwell and came across the pond in the early Thirties

                  There is so much here!
Have you ever been to the Indianapolis 500? It's an annual automobile race held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in Indiana. Your poem made me think of it. You're basically looking at race cars going around! Same destination each time! The cars only stop for maintenance.

"Then you treat me like a pitstop, my emotions ain't fake". Broken heart?

Like the myth of Sisyphus; wow! Basically, all the slow work thrown back at your face! Going in circles, reaching the same results, but wanting to change direction in order to arrive at true love's destination. Fear....and hope!

                  Thank you for sharing!

Ok. Indy and Nascar bore and bore me and my frustration builds , The piece was written to emote a certain frustration. Worst thing about it was in the very day I told my friends that she and I hit a cool stride and I was confident it was gonna last. Less than an hour later she arrives at the party and I move to hug her and she extends her arms to create distanc and says “I don’t wanna do this anymore” Then she just leaves and Ii never found out why. When I saw a rave at a friend

                    • LIZ

Harsh! What's more frustrating than going around in circles to end up in the same place? Especially, when expectations were high!

                      • Bobby O

Ok, she left. I was pissed from that moment love was never the issue. It was the fact she never gave me a reason none. That so frustrated me and the only other thing that built that same feeling in me was freaking NASCAR SO the piece was about WTF was she to put me in the category of not being worthy of a reason. I still am angry but now if I saw her I would just walk past. Believe me, I have no love. My biggest tenet that I administer and expect is leave people w their dignity. Stuff changes but leave their dignity intact.

Yes that's why I mentioned Indy 500, it's extremely boring. But, I agree, the least you can do is leave people with their dignity. You definitely sound like you're still angry....and with reason. But, what do I know...I can only theorize.

Hmmmm. It’s all made up. Sometimes I have to invent a character and drama to have an easel and a canvas to work with. The only true thing is that I really really hate those left turns.

Ha! Well, excellent job! I actually felt it!!

I read the story of that famous acting coach from New York that taught Brando and a bunch of other all time greats. The METHOD acting Guru. Same stuff applies to what we do. I was specially interested in the chapter about why some women fake it so they don’t hurt the fragile egos of men. I MEAN , WHO KNEW??
