Cynic's love

sorenbarrett

A seductive savior

A sacrifice of pleasure

The taste of love to savor

Surrender of liberty the measure

Voluntary enslavement

Tortureous extascy

Self replacement

Angelic expectancy

Lacerated trust

Rotting word

Dreams of rust

So absurd

Nice phrase and metaphor. If we pretend we slid the last stanza to the top then the finish had a touch of optimism and the down and dirty start w lacerated and absurd sets a no nonsense tone ?

Your right Bobby that would put a different twist on it indeed. Thanks so much for the review and comment.

delusional fools tend to read our words
      upside down
choosing to see what they want to see
      while we strive
      to deliver everything n anything
      they may need of us
      and so that disconnect, surreal
      is imbued subtly, absurdly
      within relationships
      we once assumed
as that all-important, in our lives...
(i so relate, dear wise Poet
      still, onwards
breath to step, till we learn
      to forget, onwards
we can but strive, to survive)
