Middlemen (I'm Sorry...)

AuburnScribbler

I’m sorry, am I in your way?

It’s just I can’t help bumping into you today,

because there’s too many middlemen.

I’m sorry, do you want me to play?

It’s just I’m trying to find myself today,

because there’s too many middlemen.

I’m sorry, do you want me to pay?

It’s just that I’m a little short today,

because of too many middlemen.

I’m sorry, do you want me to stay?

It’s just that I’ve been elected today,

(do you know why?)

BECAUSE THERE AREN’T ENOUGH BLOODY MIDDLEMEN!!

  • Comment from author about the poem: This little poem, can either be a "rag to riches" story, or an abridged telling of an easy "sell out" , brought on by the relentless corruption of man. Either or, quite simply put, the reason why things aren't running smoothly, is because there are too many middlemen. The "forest of life", is too dense, it's time to clear the way, for a change for the better. But old habits, do die hard, thus, sadly, such an insufferable self-made operation will remain to keep us all "in play". I hope that you enjoy this little poetic shout, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Such very true words Ben, there are just too many people in the way to get to the one that you need to find to make the decision.
