Why doesn't he love me?
I need him so
Why can't he get clean?
Even for him, it's a new low
I wouldn't want him as a dad
But it's what I was dealt
He's devoid of all feeling
It's always how I've felt
Why am I not good enough?
To be fair, it's all of us, I'm afraid
The drink, the drugs, are his crutch
There's not a whole lot more to be said.
It hurts when I think of him,
He doesn't know my kids exist,
Fuck him! He went away for good reason
And this is just part of the list;
Of all the reasons I can't stand him
Including my childhood of course
He was scary, and never there for me
All without a shred of remorse.

I am honoured, saddened and compelled to write thus .. have a huge hug on me dear C ... 💜x
Thank you, it is much appreciated. So glad you had a father like that!...x
A tough read so can only imagine what it took to write
The "fuck him" is very prominent
If he doesn't know his grandkids exist
He is already fucked
Respect Christina
I really appreciate and respect your kind words.....Thanks a million and thanks for your support!
I've often wondered, when I see scenes of hospital nurseries, that all those babies are new and fresh in the world, what will they go home to? Reading your poem I am saddened to think of the tortuous years you must have endured, and the effects that still linger. You have a life that he will never have and will never understand. A very courageous write dear friend, God Bless.
Thank you Bella, I appreciate your kind words more than you know!!
Very powerful Cristina relatable to many I am sure. 🤗
