Tale Of Thomas

orchidee

Tune: Alleluia, Dulce Carmen

('Lord, dismiss us with thy blessing'

= 'For the healing of the nations')

John 20 v.24-29

St Thomas Day - 3 July.

**********

Jesus to disciples appeared

When risen, He to them neared

But first time Thomas was not there

Did not Jesus' presence share

The disciples to him they said

We saw the Lord, He not dead

Thomas said, Except that I see

Him in person, so it be

See His hands and print of the nails

Put my finger there, no fails

And put my hand into His side

I will not believe, confide

Eight days later disciples there

Together, Thomas did share

In the room Jesus did appear

Said, Peace, They did see Him clear

He said to Thomas, Reach here your

Finger, behold my hands sure

And reach here your hand, and it place

In my side and my wounds trace

Be not faithless, unbelieving

But my witness believing

Thomas said to Him, You my Lord

And my God, true is your word

Jesus said, Thomas, because you

Have seen me, you believe true

And blessed they who have not seen me

In person physically

Yet have believed by faith in me

Trusting by faith they do see

Great piece Steven, I used to be a doubting Thomas,
But after I surrendered myself to the Lord and truly believed wholeheartedly, my entire life changed for the better
